The draw for the 2026 World Cup in the Canada, Mexico and the USA was held in a drawn out ceremony in Washington DC Friday.

The All Whites landed in Group G, with Belgium, Egypt and Iran.

New Zealand played Egypt as late as March of this year, losing 1-0. They last played Iran in 2023, losing 3-0.

They have never played Belgium.

New Zealand last participated in the World Cup in 2010, where they drew all their games, but were knocked out in the group stage.

The other OFC representative, New Caledonia, have to play Jamaica in the intercontinental play off. The winner takes on DR Congo, and the loser plays a friendly against the loser of Suriname v Bolivia.

If New Caledonia qualify for the 2026 World Cup, they will face Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia in Group K.
