Kiribati FA President has passed away

Martin Tofinga, President of the Kiribati Islands Football Association (KIFF) has passed away.

According to the Oceania Football Confederation Tofinga passed away in his home in Betio Tarawa.

OFC General Secretary Franck Castillo has expressed his and the organisation’s condolences to the KIFF in a press release.

“Mr Tofinga was a key member of the OFC family and his passing is being felt throughout our organisation. On behalf of OFC I would like to express our sincere condolences to Mr Tofinga and his family, friends and colleagues.”

According to the OFC, KIFF will hold a special meeting to formalise Martin Tofinga’s replacement.

  1. RIP Martin Tofinga. Would be great if Kiribati had a floating full sized football pitch. It could be named after their late KIFF president.
