Erakor Golden Star flew off to Tahiti

Vanuatu and Port Vila club representative, Erakor Golden Star FC are now on their way to Tahiti to for the OFC Champions League.
The golden boys will spend a few days in New Caledonia before flying off to Tahiti.
Team manager of the club, Donald Wanemut said that his team is ready for the competition.
“We are ready to take on the Oceania best island clubs in Tahiti,” Wanemut said.
“We know our first match will not be easy against Solomon Warriors because they have some very good players but we do trust our local players who have won the Unelco Cup last week against Tafea.”
“We want to see football fans in Vanuatu to support us in prayer,” concluded Wanemut.
Erakor Golden Star is in Group B alongside, Solomon Warriors FC of Solomon Islands, AS Dragon of Tahiti and AS Lössi of New Caledonia.
Their first match is against Warriors this Saturday 10 February 2018 at Stade Pater.

John Well star as Shepherds United beat AS Mont-Dore in friendly

New Caledonia visiting club, AS Mont-Dore, lost their first international friendly match to Vanuatu club, Shepherds United 1-0 at Port Vila stadium last Saturday.
John Well scored United’s only goal in the 92nd minute of the match as referee Mahit Chilia awarded a penalty to the Whites. Well made no mistake and sent Mont-Dore’s goalkeeper the wrong way as the ball hit the back of the net.
AS Mont-Dore played Port Vila Club champions, Ifira Black Bird earlier today and on Wednesday they will take on Tafea at 3pm local time before flying back to New Caledonia on Thursday.
Mont-Dore head coach Romould Martinez wants to use the three international friendly matches to prepare his team before the season starts in Caledonia.
