New Zealand and Tahiti get tough opponents in U20 World Cup

The draw was conducted on Sunday, with New Zealand in Group C and Tahiti in Group A. It will be a challenge for both Oceania sides as they hope to get out of their groups in Poland in May.

Ahead of the draw, New Zealand was put in Pot 2 and Tahiti in Pot 4.

New Zealand was pulled out of balls first, joining Uruguay from Pot 1 in Group C.

The game against the Uruguayans will be the Kiwi’s first in the tournament.

Next for the young All Whites came Honduras, before Norway concluded their group from Pot 4.

As for Tahiti they ended up in a group with the hosts Poland.

They will play Senegal in the opening match, while Colombia is the final team in Group A.

The top two teams from each group will go through to the knockout stages with the four best third-place teams following suit.

The U20 World Cup will be played from 23rd May to 15th June.
