Tonga plan new stadium

The Tonga FA have started planning for a new football stadium.

The Tonga Football Association has obtained a Grant from FIFA for building a football stadium.

“The Tonga Football Association (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction and completion of FIFA TFA- NCB-2021 – Proposed Tonga Football Association Stadium (‘the Works”): at Veitongo, Tongatapu,” a statement on the TFA website reads.

The Tongan FA currently use the Loto-Tonga Soka Centre and Teufaiva Park for football matches in the Tongan capital.

“National Competitive Bidding (NCB) will be conducted in accordance with FIFA’s Single-Stage One-Envelope procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countriesas described in the bidding document,” the statement reads.

There is no word on what capacity the new stadium will have.

Deadline for sending in bids is March 13th at 14.30 local time.
