Surprisingly, the draw will not be held in Oceania, but in Switzerland.

“The draw to set the fixtures of the OFC preliminary competition on the road to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will be held in Zurich, Switzerland on Monday, November 29 at 9.00pm CET (Tuesday, November 30 at 9.00am NZT). The virtual event will be streamed live on FIFA.com for all territories,” a statement from the OFC read.

The tournament will determine which OFC team qualify for the inter-confederation playoff to be held prior to the World Cup start in December next year.

“Further details concerning the format and dates of the OFC preliminary competition and the draw procedures will be communicated ahead of the draw,” the statement reads.

Previous rumours have mentioned that the OFC qualifiers could take place in March next year.
