New Zealand – Philippines 0-1

In the 24th minute Sara Eggesvik won the ball back for the Philippines and crossed it into the box. There, Sarina Bolden won a header with Rebekah Stott and C.J. Bott, and sent the ball into the net.

The goal was the Philippines first in the World Cup, with their debut against Switzerland ending in a 2-0 loss.

In the second half, Jaqui Hand thought she had equalised for New Zealand, but the goal was disallowed for offside following a VAR-check.

That leaves the Philippines and NZ with three points each with one game to go. Switzerland and Norway meet later this Thursday, before NZ takes on the Swiss side in their final group stage game on Sunday, with a place in the knockouts at stake.
