Auckland win 13th Champions League title
New Zealand’s Auckland City sees off Hekari United of Papua New Guinea in intense OFC Champions League Final.

Auckland City – Hekari United 2-0
Both sides entered the final with two wins and a draw from the group stages.
Auckland defeated Vanuatu’s Ifira Black Bird 2-0 in the semi final, while Hekari got past Tiga Sport from New Caledonia with a 1-0 win.
The final was tightly contested for the entire first half with both sides having some solid chances at the Nationa Stadium in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
Just before half time Myer Bevan broke the deadlock, when he evaded the defenders and heel-flicked the ball into the back of the net.
In the second half Auckland took more and more control of the match, forcing Hekari to play much of the match in their own half.
Hekari fought valiantly, but with ten minutes to go until full time, Matt Ellis ran past the Hekari defence and was fouled inside the box.
The following penalty Myer Bevan expedited into the back of the net, to secure the win for Auckland.
That goal also meant Auckland took their 13th OFC Champions League title, since winning their first in 2006.
